Winter Formal

Bob, Charlie, Mara, Melissa and her boyfriend, Patrick
Lara, Daniel, Kristin, Walter, Kaitlin, Marquise, Stephanie and Taylor.

Thought I'd share a few photos of the girls from the dance on Saturday. Last Winter Formal for these seniors

Craft Day with The Girls

First off, Jenn and Melissa had to get a photo op with Jenn's dog, Lola.

Check out Steph in the camo safety goggles. Safety first....right. A little grinding to make these.
Just need to rivet closures on. Great idea for friend's presents.

Christina taking a break from soldering for a lil' Lola time. This dog is a complete attention grabber.

Melissa working on a stocking for her friend.
Great thing....while the girls were working on goodies I cleaned my craft room. YAHOO!!!
Clean before the holidays. I can't believe it.
Headed off to Las Vegas for a few days tomorrow. Christina is joining us and her boyfriend is meeting up with us there.
Have a great week!

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

Thought I'd share a few of my favorite Christmas things. My sweet angel I made at Sally Jean's class over the weekend. I love these candles from Crate and Barrel. The most scrumptious glittery green.
Aren't these snowman adorable. Part of my collection from Christine Crocker of Deerfield Farmhouse.
And the stockings were hung by the fireplace with care.....only I'm still missing 4. Ran out of hooks as I was trying to finish and as normal not any to be found in the house.

I LOVE pink poinsettias. The lil mercury birds we used at Jenn's wedding at the bride and groom table. Oh how I love mercury glass.

Fun grouping. Made the snowman last year in Pam Garrison's class at Silver Bella. Jenn made the little cupcake picture on the right. I should have moved the flowers because it has the cutest grouping on the other corner of vintage aqua balls inside of cupcake liners. I know, try and envision it.

My dear sweet angel.

Santa by Amanda Willey of HodgePodge. The collage behind is one I did for Joe. It's done with

old ledgers and paperwork from when his Dad started the farm in the 1950's. The truck pictures I used were from all the trucks they've had over the last 50 years arranged as a load of hay on our newest truck. I adore this picture.
The little bird from Silver Bella. I made a couple of these for Silver Bella to sell at vendor night. I made 3 more so if anyone is interested, let me know.
I've also been working on lots of letter charms.

Now that I spent the morning sharing I need to get busy. I promise Natalie, I'm working on that special piece for you. I hope you love it!

Look What I Did.....

Spent all day Friday getting ready for this event...one day only show. It turned out really well. A friend and I have joined forces and are trying to do 4 shows a year. Our love for vintage and art inspired us. This time around we only had two other vendors but it was great!!

I do love that extra money for the holidays. I think I really need to get a white tree like this one. It turned out so darn cute!

Just a little winter scene. I don't know if you can see those newspapers on the bench. A score Lori found from the 1960's. All related to Kennedy family events and man walking on the moon. I could have read papers for days.

Ok Natalie....I know these look familiar. I snatched your adorable idea. Made a few to sell and the rest are getting used as Christmas gift card holders. I absolutely love them.

I have a few of these little guys left for sell. I made them smaller than the one I did for Silver Bella. If anyone's interested let me know. I also have 3 of the cones with that adorable little bird and the rhinestone necklace left. I'll post pics of those later.

Then there was Sunday.
Christina and I headed to Portland to attend a Sally Jean tree topper class. Well we liked the idea of enclosing her and making a vignette inside of her. Didn't they turn out adorable. Christina's is on the left and mine is next to hers with the little tree and snowman inside.
This class was amazing. As is her studio. This was my second trip to her studio and you could just spend hours looking through her goodies. She gives you open reign to look at everything and anything. Check out her studio pics in Where Women Create magazine. It's even better in person.
Spent all day Monday putting together order for my cheese mail order company. I had about 50 orders to go out. This weekend is the big one. I think I have about 300. Yikes!!!
I'm off for the day. Christmas shopping in Portland with my Mom. I'm sure hoping I can find what I'm looking for and get things done. I still want to have a little time to play with some projects.
Well girls, have a wonderful week.

A Whirlwind of Glitter

Where do I even begin......you Bellas rock. I had an over-the-top time. Thanks to all of you for a fabulous long weekend. You are so inspiring and encouraging. A special thank you to my roomies, Michelle Geller and Natalie Hansen. You two are amazing. Thanks for putting up with me and my vendor mess in the hotel room and helping me price everything. Couldn't have done it without you. Can't wait to meet up with you two again. Luckily Michelle lives close, Natalie not so close. But maybe 12 hours by car is possible.

Don't you just love this group. Michelle, Hope, Suzanne, Stacy, Julie, Heidi and I at dinner on the last night. I hope you girls enjoyed that Candy Cane Martini as much as I did. Thanks for all the fun conversation!!!
Me, Stacy and Heidi at the Mary Englebreit luncheon. Loved sitting with you two.

It was so much fun!!! Thanks Charlotte for your inspiration.
These were the most amazing classes. They way surpassed last years. Thanks to all the wonderful teachers I had!!! Teresa, Charlotte, Pam, Kim and Sally Jean. Thanks for all the new techniques you taught me. Can't wait to get started on more new projects. You're truly inspiring.
Can't wait for next year....poor Teresa, I don't know how she is going to top this one. Have a wonderful week girls and I'll try being better about posting.

Work...and...Play...make this girl Happy!!

Wow, what a last couple of weeks. Where do I begin?
Sewing room.....check. Finished the mass move and organization. Boy what a project. Didn't take pics when it was finished. Oops big booboo. Now it's covered in Silver Bella projects for swaps and vendor night. I'll share sneaks later.

Cafe...check. Started back to work at daughter Jenn's cafe. Wow, wasn't ready for that. I was just getting my groove back to the arts. Oh well, love working with her everyday. And guess what????? I'm gonna be a Grandma. Is there a better word for it? At 41, I don't think I'm ready to be called Grandma yet. But I can't wait for February.

Play...check. Spent a couple of days in Portland with Jenn. Hit the best shops and found some great supplies. Great fabric from Bolt, lots of art supplies from Collage and a few new clothes for Silver Bella. Jenn and I took a screenprinting class at Collage. Oh my gosh, what a blast. Our teacher, Nicole, was awesome. Ended up just being the two of us in class and did lots of little projects. Okay, like I need one more medium to work with.

Now it's time to buckle down and get things done. Still have swaps to finish for Silver Bella and more goodies to make for vendor night. Heading to Art and Soul next month. And can't wait.

What Was I Thinking?????

Have you ever started a project and wondered WHY???? Well I just did. I've spent the last couple of days working on our 2 guest rooms. That's what happens when kids move out and you have more rooms than people.

Then smart me....decided I wanted the bigger extra room as my art room. Do you know where I'm coming from when I say I have so much @#$%? I was feeling a lil bit overwhelmed and decided I needed a break. This is what it looks like right now.
I'll share when it's done.....hopefully it won't be in the next century. Have a wonderful weekend. You know what I'll be doing.

Summer Creating....

Boy has it been awhile..... Busy summer with yardwork, house projects, fair and creating (which is my favorite part).

I wanted to share a pic of my favorite spot. My garden shed my hubby built for me a couple of Christmas' ago. I love...love...love it.

Here's a few pics of somethings I've been working on. The lil Halloween girl is a remake of one I bought. Decided to make her over for fall instead of the blue color she originally was. Love how she turned out.

Working on some jewelry...hoping to get in a couple of shops for the holidays. It's been so much fun. I just need to find some better vintage finding sources. The garage sales here aren't cutting the mustard. Love the techniques I learned at the Stephanie Lee class. It is truly more my style. Here's a lil' sneak peak.
Then a couple holiday creations. I've got lots of snowpeople in the works.

As we get closer to Fall, I'm hoping to have more time to post. It seems like I just can't take a few minutes (which turns in to 30) to post. Trying to get my cheese mail order business in line before September hits. Still have a little bit to do but I'm almost done. Yeah for me....I'm usually not finished until October 1.
Have a great rest of the week. It's supposed to be hot here....we're talking in the 90's.

It Can't Be July

Wow...talk about checking the date. I can't believe it's already July. Boy was June busy.

Had a great trip to Spokane for the Farmchicks show. Unfortunately didn't get any pictures. We were so overwhelmed with the whole experience. Christina did an awesome job. She's great for keeping me on track and organized. We had the chance to do a lil shopping (found some realllly cute stuff), stayed at a wonderful hotel (The Davenport-talk about luxury- it's bathroom was as big as my kitchen) and a great place to eat called Chaps (Celeste does an incredible job and the cowboy decor is to die for - Christina was in heaven). It really has me considering adding a lil bit to my own house. Didn't think I would fall for pink and turquoise...but I did. Came home with far less than we took. Had a great experience and met some great people. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Unfortunately the dates for next year look like they're going to conflict with the twin's graduation.

Came home for 4 days and than headed off with the family for Disneyland. Spent 7 days in the heat and loved every minute of it. Thanks to Dede for turning us on to Gilding the Lily and to the little shop in Costa Mesa.( Pam Garrison's hot spot) Spent hours going through all the pretties at Gilding the Lily. Came home with lots and lots of goodies. Even got to visit with Dede. Can't wait to see you again at Art and Soul in Portland.

Home for a week and got to celebrate birthday number "41" I can actually say it wasn't even depressing. Spent the day at our local parade and had a fabulous dinner with the kids and hubby at my Favorite Beach spot, Roseanna's.

Getting ready for our annual 4th of July party. Fireworks, BBQ and lots of friends. Can't wait to see everyone.

I've finally started working on things again...I'm almost ready for Etsy. Can't wait......

Now pondering....SILVER BELLA. Looks like it would be fun!!!!!!

Farmchicks Here We Come!!!

After weeks of preparation it's finally here. Christina and I've spent the last few days loading the pickup. It's amazing how much you can get into the bed and backseat of a pickup. I don't think we left any space unused. We managed to fill every piece with goodies and worked it like a jigsaw puzzle. Oh no...what about our suitcase. Maybe that will mean a shopping trip for clothes too. HEEHEE

So many great vendors are coming. The hubby's afraid I might come home with more than I'm taking. Could possibly be...we'll see!!!

Christina and I are definitely planning a girl's weekend. That means shopping, eating goodies, maybe a facial and the Sex in The City movie. I'm addicted. Just wish the other girls could come. Jenn's too busy at the cafe and the twins have finals. BOO HOO Oh well we all leave next Sunday for (hopefully) SUNNY CALIFORNIA. I'm sure that will be a jam packed week...I'm so excited. We haven't all gone on a trip together since Washington DC and New York last year.

I'll try and take lots of pics to share when I get back.
